Hi Lois! Welcome to planDisney, and hello to a fellow Virginian.
A very happy early birthday to your grandson! My brother is a serious Star Wars fan, and we celebrated his milestone birthday at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge a few years ago - it was the perfect way for the birthday boy to live his Star Wars adventure, and I know your grandson is going to love every minute of his galactic birthday celebration!
At this time,
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple remains paused as part of the
phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort. We don't have any news about an opening date, and my advice is to read the
Disney Parks Blog for news and announcements. They recently announced
the return of several live entertainment and character offerings throughout Walt Disney World, and while Jedi Training wasn't on the list, I'm sending pixie-dusted wishes that it comes back soon.
My young Padawan absolutely loved his time at
Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers, where he built a customized lightsaber with the guidance of Savi's Gatherers. This experience is truly one-of-a-kind - I had tears in my eyes when we lit our lightsabers for the first time at the command of a special Jedi Master. Another option is
Droid Depot, where your grandson can customize and build his own fully operational droid. Several of my fellow Panelists' kiddos have loved this experience.
I'm wishing your grandson the most epic Star Wars day at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Lois! He can try a blue milk at
Milk Stand (look out for Kylo Ren, who often appears in that area), snack on my daughter's favorite
Ronto Wrap, and pose for photos throughout the land. Suggest to him that he look up, down, and all around while exploring Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - details like droid tracks in the ground and familiar characters appearing on rooftops are common sights. He is going to feel the Birthday Force flowing!
Thank you for stopping by with your question. As you count down the days to your visit, please come back and see us if you have any further questions.
May the Force be with you,
