Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Emily. I know you must be excited for your upcoming vacation!
I was also the one to take my husband and kids for their first visits and I can remember feeling the pressure to make sure they really loved it. The great news is, Walt Disney World Resort did it for me! With a little planning, all we had to do was show up and enjoy the magic.
You'll find a wonderful resource for
parents of preschoolers on the Walt Disney World website with itinerary ideas, helpful tips and activities outside the parks for you and your family to enjoy.
Some personal tricks I always keep in my back pocket are as follows:
- Use a double stroller. Even if my children walk, I never regret having the space for them to take a quick nap or carry our bags. We love renting from Kingdom Strollers.
- Bring your own snacks and water into the parks. This saves money and also time spent in line when the kiddos are hungry. We love crackers, pretzels, applesauce and any other goodies that won't melt on a sunny day.
- Know your Baby Care Centers! Located in each of the 4 theme parks, these special hideaways for parents of small children are a lifesaver.
- Take breaks. Whether you leave the park to take a mid-day nap or find yourself sitting in the shade with a tasty beverage, you will cherish even the quiet moments on your vacation.
I also recommend Touringplans.com for detailed daily itineraries. I use these for every trip and find them really helpful.
Hopefully this will get you started, Emily. Sending you wishes for the vacation of a lifetime!
