Planning to head to the Water Parks with my 14 yr old daughter. Unfortunately I don't swim :( How deep are the pools? Which Water Park do you recommend?

I'm going to recommend that you head to Blizzard Beach. On my recent vacation our family went to both water parks and my son preferred Blizzard Beach. However, I'm going to also suggest this park for you as a non-swimmer.

At Typhoon Lagoon, the large wave pool can be intimidating to even more sea-worthy folks. The bobbing wave pool at Blizzard Beach is less intense and much smaller. You could wade in the water here and feel more secure.

Please note that life jackets are available free of charge. While you can easily enjoy the lazy river, Cross Country Creek, by lounging in an inner tube and even stand up if you were overturned, you might want to consider a preserver or speak to a lifeguard about other suggestions.

I am only 5 foot tall and I did not experience any water attraction at either park that was over my head. That's not to say that none exist since I didn't go in the chilly waters of Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon, for example. Also I have read that where the waves are generated in Typhoon Lagoon's Surf (wave) pool that the depth is 7 feet so there are places in the parks where the water is deep.

A discreet conversation with a lifeguard or with Information at the entrance to the park may be able to guide you towards the more suitable attractions and let you know what to avoid and where you'll find water at a depth that would not be appropriate for non-swimmers.

I hope you have a wonderful time!
