Planning to head to Disney parks Dec 19-27 2019. This will be our first time to Epcot. Will the big world ball be closed during this time?

Hello Shannon and fellow North Carolinian! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

First of all, you are going to have so much fun visiting Walt Disney World over Christmas. My family and I have been enjoying Christmas at the parks for years and each year it seems even that much more magical. I am so excited for you. Second of all, Epcot is an amazing theme park full of adventure, learning opportunities, great food and just a lot of fun. You are definitely going to enjoy your time there. During your vacation, you'll be able to enjoy the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. This special event takes Guests on an adventure around the World Showcase highlighting different foods and activities that take place around the globe during the holiday season. Maybe the most timeless thing to enjoy during the festival is the Candlelight Processional. Each night, a celebrity narrator reads the story of Christmas accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a full choir. It's really breathtaking. If you have the opportunity to enjoy the reading while you are there, I highly recommend it.

As of right now, Spaceship Earth is not on the calendar for any closures in December. Of course, this could change at anytime. I'd keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog closer to your vacation so you know what to plan for.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions about your vacation in December, I hope that you'll come back and ask. Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
