We are planning on having family meet us at our hotel CBR on Sunday 3/22 for the day. They are local. Given the marathon, how will the traffic be at 7:30 am for them and how do we find out the marathon route and what impact that will have on the traffic?

    Hello, Jill!

Traffic will be moving slowly due to road closures from 5:00am to 7:00am, after 7:00am there will be a few roads down to one lane in certain locations. At 7:30am a local driver should not experience any significant delays trying to access Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. The only locals that may find extreme delays are those that come in from the North and use World Dr. to access southern locations of Walt Disney World Resort.

While the course map has yet to be released, this race typically travels from Epcot along Epcot Center Dr., and then toward the Magic Kingdom via World Dr. it also travels through the Magic Kingdom parking lot and the Transportation and Ticket Center before passing by Disney's Contemporary Resort and then entering the Magic Kingdom. From the Magic Kingdom, runners head back to Epcot. All roads will reopen by 7:00am, even if they are temporarily one-laned.

From Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort; Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park will be the least impacted by race traffic. Epcot will be the most affected.

I hope this helps you plan your day around Walt Disney World Resort on race morning, Jill! If I can be of further assistance, please let me know!
