When planning a grand gathering, do all participants need to be staying at a WDW resort? We are traveling as a group of 5 adults and meeting 4 friends who already live in the orlando area.Wanted to plan something special, but not sure about the requirement

    Hi there, Janella!

For your party to qualify as a Grand Gathering and to receive all of the benefits of the group, at least eight (8) members of the party must be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel (including the Swan and/or /Dolphin if you book these resorts directly through the Walt Disney Travel Company).

As a Grand Gathering, there are exclusive options that your party can participate in, provided that at least eight people are signing up for the activity.

Children under the age of three (3) are not counted in the party number.

Check out the official Disney site for tips on accommodating your large party.

    Have a wonderful time!

    See you later, celebrator,
