I am planning to gp to Disney early October with my son, just him and me. I have an injured foot and am also visually impaired so I need to keep a close eye on my 9 year old. Will Disney allow him to ride along with me on an electrical scooter?

    Hello Vanessa!

Welcome to planDisney! Your visit to Walt Disney World Resort is coming up soon, so thanks for visiting planDisney with questions about those final planning details.

The Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules share specifications for wheeled mobility devices allowed within Walt Disney World Resort, including that wheeled mobility devices should be single rider. You are welcome to bring and use your own Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) throughout Walt Disney World Resort, or you may rent one in any of the theme parks, water parks, or Disney Springs. Daily ECV rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis, at a current price of $50 with a refundable deposit that varies based on location. Prices are subject to change. These ECVs are also for single rider use only. If you’d like to rent an ECV for the length of your stay, you may contact the Disney Featured Provider to rent your device in advance, as well as arrange delivery and pick up of your ECV at your Disney Resort hotel.

I want to make sure you know about this helpful page on the Walt Disney World website that entails the ECV accessibility on all Walt Disney World Resort transportation options, as well as details on which attractions will allow you to remain in or require transfer out of your ECV. There is also a page about the services available for Guests with visual disabilities, should you need it.

Have you seen the news that Figment is now greeting guests in the Imagination Pavilion in EPCOT? And, you may even get the chance to experience Soarin’ Over California when it returns to EPCOT for a limited time beginning September 22, 2023!

I hope you have an amazing visit with your son, Vanessa. If you have any future questions, I’m here to help at planDisney!
