We are planning to go to WDW the week of Jan 5-9 of 2009. Do you think that is a busy time of the year?

Hi Angela.   This is a really good choice if crowd levels are important.   As I am sure you already know, you are arriving the week after the Christmas and New Years holidays.    Based upon my past experience, you will find crowds significantly reduced following the weekend after New Years (ending Jan 4).   I live in Florida and the schools here are also scheduled to start back on the 5th as well.

Other than that time very early in January and a slight increase in crowds over Martin Luther King weekend, January is a great time to visit.    Another verification of this is that Disney still list the week you visit as a Great Time to Visit.    Enjoy your upcoming trip!
