We are planning to go to WDW theme parks for 7 days. How many days do you think we need for each park in August?

    Hi there, Chelly!

I am so excited for you as you prepare for your weeklong vacation at Walt Disney World later this Summer! Let me give you some of my thoughts with regard to your question...

At the minimum, I recommend 4-Day Park Hopper Tickets.  Central Florida is typically very hot in August and a rain shower in the afternoon is usually the norm.  I think it's a great idea to head to the parks early and then head back in the afternoon for some rest and relaxation.  Later in the day, you can go back to the parks until closing time.  Park Hoppers allow you to literally "hop" from one park to another.  So if you spend half the day at Animal Kingdom Theme Park, for example, you might decide to finish your day over at Magic Kingdom Park.  Park Hoppers just allow much needed flexibility, in my opinion.  4-Day Park Hoppers would allow you, in theory, a full day at each of the four major theme parks.  However keeping in mind heat and crowds in the Summer, I would personally purchase a 7-Day Park Hopper for even more flexibility.  When you do a price comparison, I think you will see that it really doesn't cost much to add those additional days.  Ideally, I suggest 2 days at every park with the exception of Disney's Hollywood Studios.  One day there should suffice, but get there at park opening time. The new Toy Story Land should be open by then!

Feel free to stop back at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any other trip planning questions.  Have a wonderful vacation, Chelly!

    Magically yours in 2018,
