We are planning to go to USA next year in early January. This will be our first trip to the US and to Disneyland. Will the park be open during this time. I was told that the park closes during winter. Thanks

Hello Anna, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

You and your family will have a fabulous time at the Disneyland Resort next January. The parks are open 365 days a year (366 days during leap years, of course!) During extremely busy days, such as Christmas Day or New Year's Eve, Disneyland may close temporarily if crowds reach capacity. It is for safety reasons but when the crowds start thinning out, the park will re-open for Guests to enjoy.

January is one of my family's favorite times to head to the Disneyland Resort. The weather is cool, most children are back in school after the holidays, thus smaller crowds during January. A time you will encounter larger crowds will be Martin Luther King Jr. weekend where many US schools have long weekend, which also typically coincides with Star Wars Half Marathon

When the parks are less busy, some attractions may be closed for refurbishment. These are usually posted in advance (subject to change), so Guests can plan their time in the parks accordingly.

I hope this information is helpful in planning your upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. Please visit me on the Panel again if you have further questions.

    Have a magical day,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
