I was planning to go to Mickeys Backyard BBQ. in November. Since the dinner is in the evening and at Fort Wilderness, do I need to bring lots of bug spray?? If the bugs are going to be bad, maybe we should try an indoor reservation instead.

Hi Jenny!  I am here right now in Fort Wilderness so I am pretty in tune with the flying uninvited guests.  Although there have been some deer flies biting around the camp sites and cabins, the common areas seem to be clear of bugs.  Disney works hard to keep the area clear and comfortable for the guests.

Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is a wonderful experience for the kids and I have never experienced feeling uncomfortable due to a bug issue. It is always good advice to spray bug repellent anytime you plan on spending time outdoors in the parks or resorts and especially in the evening hours.  But it is not necessary to keep your reservations strictly indoors.  Have a great time!
