Hey there, Jody! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!
Your visit to
Disneyland Resort will be here before you know it. I'm sure you and your family are excited to
celebrate 100 years of Disney at The Happiest Place on Earth! It's my pleasure to help you with this question so that you can start planning your magical day.
Since you and your daughter are planning to start your day at
Disneyland Park and then head over to
Disney's California Adventure Park, you'll want to be sure that you
purchase tickets with the
Park Hopper option. Along with your Park Hopper tickets, you'll also need to
make a park reservation for the theme park you plan to visit first. Once you have those tickets and park reservations squared away, you're free to begin your day exploring the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy at Disneyland Park. Then when Park Hopper hours begin, you can head over to Disney's California Adventure Park to meet your favorite superheroes at
Avengers Campus or shift into high gear at
Cars Land.
Currently, Park Hopper hours begin at 11:00 AM (subject to availability). You can check the
Park Hours calendar or the
Disneyland app for the most up-to-date Park Hopper hours. Once Park Hopper hours begin, you are welcome to come and go between the two theme parks as much as you like, so you can certainly return to Disneyland Park in the evening. Even if the boys in your family only have standard tickets without the Park Hopper option, they may still come and go from the park where they make their reservations throughout the day, so I think your plans for your Disneyland Resort day sound practically perfect in every way. When your family meets back up at Disneyland Park in the evening, I would recommend taking in the new nighttime spectacular,
Wondrous Journeys.
See ya real soon!
