Hi Susanne!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I think this is a great idea! In fact I would always recommend that anyone wishing to travel to Epcot from
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort takes the short walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center, rather than wait for the resort monorail. It is much quicker! You can then board the express Epcot monorail which will take you straight to Epcot with no other stops, for your evening's enjoyment. I really enjoy the bird's eye view of Epcot's Future World when the monorail arrives there - it makes a complete loop around Future World before it stops at the station. You will have a fantastic view of Test Track, and it offers a great opportunity for some really good photos. At the end of the evening, you can take a bus back to your Disney Resort hotel. See all the
Disney Transportation options here.
Remember to make your
FastPass+ reservations, 60 days in advance of your visit, by using
My Disney Experience. For each day, you may select one Tier 1 attraction, and two Tier 2 attractions at the same park, and when these have been used you can make further FastPass+ reservations, one attraction at a time, at any park. You can do this by using My Disney Experience, or by visiting the FastPass+ Kiosks located around the parks. At Epcot, the Tier 1 attractions are
Frozen Ever After,
Soarin' Around the World and
Test Track.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World.
Sue
