We are planning to go on the D.Magic in March 2015 with our 1-yr. old. We would like to plan ahead for one evening at Palo's for dinner. I know nursery hrs. vary, but how would that work for caring for him [feeding (he eats reg. food), etc.]?

    Welcome aboard, Katie!

Great to hear that you are planning on taking a magical voyage on the Disney Magic next year. You've picked a wonderful vacation choice, since sailing on a Disney Cruise will allow both kids and parents ample enough downtime to really enjoy themselves. Your little buccaneer will be well taken cared of as Mom & Dad spend some adult time together. Every parent feels a lot more comfortable enjoying themselves when they know that their child is safe and having fun. That's exactly what you'll experience onboard the Disney Cruise Line.

There's lots of fun waiting for your little one at It's a Small World Nursery. I encourage you to pop in there during embarkation day's open house. You'll get a chance to check out the nursery and also speak to the wonderful youth counselors about their activities and what to look forward to during your voyage. They can also check for schedules and make any additions or changes to your existing nursery reservations. If you've got specific instructions for your little cruiser, this is also a good time to mention it to the youth counselors.

It sounds like your little one does not need pureed food or other special meals pre-made. Once you drop off your child at the Nursery, you'll just need to let the counselors know that he/she will need dinner or snacks. The counselors can let you know what's on the menu too. If you have other specific requests for the evening, just let them know. You might conclude dinner a little later, so you can even bring pajamas for changing. If you end up needing more time for dinner, just make a quick call to the nursery and they'll usually have no problem keeping your little one so that you can finish that chocolate souffle at Palo.

    Have a wonderful vacation, Katie!
