We planning to go to Disney world My son is Coast Guard , but he will joint us. Please help us to make this vacations very affordable. What discount we can use for tickets and hotel?

    Hi Tetyana, welcome to planDisney!

Mickey is practically bursting his buttons with pride at the thought of meeting your family at Walt Disney World Resort this summer. Together is my family's favorite place to be and togetherness is something military families, in particular, don't take for granted. Let's get you plugged into some of the incredible discounts offered to cherished military members and their families.

An excellent lodging option for military families is Shades of Green. Shades of Green is an Armed Forces Recreation Center located on the grounds of Walt Disney World Resort, close to Magic Kingdom Park. It is not a Disney Resort hotel, which means it has its own transportation and Guests are not eligible for the pre-arrival MagicBand discount; however, honored Shades of Green Guests are eligible for amazing perks like early theme park entry and extended evening theme park hours. Shades of Green is a beautiful resort with lush grounds and large rooms. There are no taxes or resort fees, making it very reasonably priced. Military families often book this resort a year in advance, which means availability may be limited, so let me share another lodging option with you.

Active or retired US military personnel and their families can take advantage of excellent room discounts at several Disney Resort hotels. You can discuss your options with a helpful Cast Member at (407) 939-7830. Something to keep in mind is that Disney Resorts Collection hotels are divided into three budget categories: value, moderate, and deluxe. Some of the biggest advantages to staying at any Disney Resorts Collection hotel are immersive theming, incomparable Disney hospitality, and access to complimentary transportation.

Valid admission, a theme park reservation, and a method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) are required for theme park entry through January 8, 2024. Disney Military Salute Tickets offer star-spangled saving for Eligible Service Members and their families. Eligible Service Members are active or retired members of the US Military, including the US Coast Guard. Your son can purchase these tickets through Shades of Green or at his local military base for himself and up to five additional family members. Tickets purchased through Shades of Green are activated and are ready for use once linked to a My Disney Experience account. Tickets purchased on base should also be linked to a My Disney Experience account but must be activated at Guest Relations with a valid military ID before use. In both cases, you should check the theme park reservation availability calendar and make theme park reservations as soon as possible.

If you'd prefer a different ticket length than what the Disney Military Salute Tickets have to offer, your son can also purchase Magic Your Way Tickets through Shades of Green or on base for a slight discount.

Thank you for your family's service, Tetyana. Enjoy making magical memories together!

    Choose magic,
    Jennifer
