Hello we are planning to go to Disney world florida in March. I had heard that you have to reserve each ride you want to get on. Is this true? And if my son is 2, does he get in free?

    Hello there, Melissa!

Welcome back to planDisney. We are thrilled to continue to help you plan new adventures at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

The Walt Disney World Resort currently offers Guests the option of purchasing Disney Genie+, which lets you select a specific time to experience several attractions at all four theme parks and use the Lightning Lane entrance instead of waiting in the regular queue. If you decide to buy Disney Genie+ Service for your visit, you can do so within the My Disney Experience app beginning at midnight on the date of your visit (valid theme park admission must be linked to your Disney account). Please note that you are not required to buy this service, as you can use the stand-by line to enter attractions.

In addition to Disney Genie+, you can make individual Lightning Lane purchases for up to two specific attractions not included with Disney Genie+. Pricing and availability vary by attraction and park, so be sure to check the My Disney Experience app on the date of your visit. You can decide to buy Disney Genie+ and make individual Lightning Lane purchases, you can also not purchase Disney Genie+ and still make individual Lightning Lane purchases, or you can only use the stand-by line to enter attractions. If you are visiting at a busy time of the year, I recommend purchasing Disney Genie+ to make the most of your day without waiting so long in line.

As for your little one, he will not require park tickets because he is under 3. If you buy Disney Genie+ or make individual Lightning Lane purchases, he can accompany you as long as he meets the height requirement for the attraction. If he is still too little, you are welcome to request Rider Switch service at the entrance of participating attractions.

I hope this helps you while planning, Melissa. Come back to visit us again if you have more questions. We will be delighted to assist you!

    Best magical wishes,
    Thiana
