planning on getting two rooms for the five of us....one for my wife and I and then one for my 3 adult children (over 21). If one or more of them cannot attend after booking a year out what is cancellation policy? If two kids cancel..can we keep one room?

Ahoy there, Kevin! Welcome to planDisney! It looks like your message in a bottle washed ashore here just in time for Disney Cruise Line to have announced itineraries for Summer 2023! Talk about great timing with you and your crew planning for next June! As someone who has taken many cruises as an adult without children, taking one as a family of all adults sounds like a tremendous time!

Getting your family together for an incredible voyage is a great idea - that's a planDrew-approved bit of foresight for sure - and when it comes to making sure everyone's not right on-top of one another, two staterooms are definitely the way to go! You're also in luck, as you can book up to four staterooms on a single reservation and look for available staterooms  that are near one another - or even adjoining!

Now, when it comes to cancellations, I sure hope it doesn't come to that, since everything that's included on a Disney Cruise Line vacation and all the adult-excusive activities and experiences make for a great time to reconnect as a family! But if dark water and stormy seas lead to part of your crew abandoning ship, there's a silver lining!

How many more metaphors can a guy work into a single sentence, eh?

Removing a single Guest from a stateroom on your reservation is possible, but something best left to the crew members reachable by phone at Disney Cruise Line. In fact, for any of the the times where the stars just don't align and cancellation is the only way forward, calling a crew member is the only way to cancel even a portion of your reservation.

Oh, but remember, though it is currently relaxed for cruises through September 30, 2022, The Disney Cruise Line cancellation policy allows for non-concierge and non-restricted stateroom reservations to be cancelled  to cancel without a penalty or fees - as long as you do so at least 120 days before your sail date! But that silver lining I talked about: if you need to rearrange your crew's quarters due to downsizing to a single stateroom, when you call in, Disney Cruise Line crew members will be able to discuss all the options!

I hope that helps you chart a course through any rough seas, Kevin. Thank you so much for your question! If you have any others as you continue to plan, please let us know how we can help - we'll be on the lookout for other messages in a bottle!

Until then, fair winds and following seas!
