We are planning on getting the regular dining plan for WDW stay. I was wondering, what are some fun snack options for kids? Also, my husband is worried about not having enough food through the day to be satisfied. What are filling options for the snack?

Hello Jessica!  Thanks for asking your question here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  My family and I are big fans of the Disney Dining Plan.  We book the regular package each trip to Walt Disney World. I promise you this, it is a lot of food!  The first time we used the Disney Dining Plan, I also had this concern but I soon saw how much food you really get.  We are always so full at the end of each day and by the end of vacation we are stuffed.

There are so many snack options to choose from on the Disney Dining Plan.  A fan favorite amongst Disney foodies like myself is the Dole Whip Float located at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom.  This is a huge treat that is easily shareable with 2 people.  A Dole Whip Float is a large serving of pineapple soft serve (I like the pineapple/vanilla swirl the best) topped off with fresh pineapple juice.  Make sure to grab a spoon, a straw and a lot of napkins.  We also love a Carrot Cake Cookie from the Writer's Stop at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  2 super soft, moist carrot cake cookies with a huge swirl of cream cheese frosting sandwiched in the middle, need I say more?

Any item on a menu that has a purple and white square beside it and the letters DDP is considered a snack on the Disney Dining Plan.  There is a range of goodies to choose from and they range in price.  If you are like me, you will want to maximize your credits on the Disney Dining Plan.  I don't recommend purchasing soda or a bottled water with your snack credits.  That would be a waste of the credits value.  A snack credit is most items around the $4.50 mark or less, although I have seen some as high as $4.99.  If you do a quick google search for best value for a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit, you will see several lists with showing what a good use of your credit would be.

    Have a great vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
