Were planning on getting a park hopper, going to star wars galaxys edge for half the day. Since you need to get a boarding group for rise of the resistance but we would also like to get a fast pass for Smugglers. Can we try to get them near the same time?

Bright suns, Marcy! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I love that you’re planning your next Walt Disney World trip well in advance -- definitely a great idea especially since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been such a popular destination ever since it opened! Theme Park Tickets with Park Hopper Option are definitely a great way to make sure you will get the most out of your Disney vacation, allowing you full freedom to explore multiple Theme Parks in one day. However, when it comes to your plans to experience both Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, you may not be able to easily line up the times as easily. The reason for this is that obtaining a Boarding Group for Rise of the Resistance is a very different process from securing a FastPass+ window. Here is a very thorough post I'd like to share with you from my fellow co-panelist Allyn regarding the process for securing a boarding group.

Most importantly, arrive prior to Park opening with a fully charged cell phone and the latest version of the My Disney Experience Mobile App! When/if you are given a boarding group window, it will include a 2-hour time span during which to return. If you have a FastPass+ window for Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, you should be able to experience both attractions no matter what the timing of your Boarding Group window.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a fantastic area to explore! If you have down time, I highly recommend a meal at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo while you wait, or a quick stroll over to Toy Story Land to explore some new attractions there as well!

Marcy, I hope this information helps you as you continue to make plans for your next magical adventures at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Please do not hesitate to come back to see us if we can help you in any other way, and may the force be with you!
