I am planning on getting a hotel next year at Disney Resorts and was wondering if I had to pay separately for bus/shuttle, or monorail transportation. I was also wondering if I would need to get park tickets before a hotel.

Hi Ekin and welcome to planDisney!

It's always exciting to be planning a Walt Disney World vacation!  It's great that you're starting early and taking everything into consideration.  There's a lot of information out there and planDisney is happy to help you any way that we can.

Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can take advantage of complimentary transportation and that includes the Walt Disney World buses, monorails, ferry boats and the Disney Skyliner.  The Disney Resort hotel you're staying at and where you would like to go will dictate which mode of transportation you should take.  If you need transportation guidance while you are at Walt Disney World, just ask the nearest Cast Member and they can help you out.

You do not need to get park tickets before you make your Disney Resort hotel reservations, but sometimes a package deal might save you some money.  I highly suggest pricing out a vacation package that includes tickets and then see how much it will cost you if you bought these two things separately.  Having a vacation package is nice because it's basically one-stop shopping.  The Disney Dining Plan is returning next year and Guests with a vacation package will have the option to add that to their vacation.  In summary, the Disney Dining Plan is a way to pre-pay for your meals and gives you meal and snack credits to use at a wide range of restaurants on your vacation.

Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
