I am planning to do a gender reveal at Disneyland. I know we are not able to do confetti poppers or colored smoke, but can we do colored confetti or synthetic rose petals? Or can Disney help us with lighting something up pink or blue?

Hello there Breanna! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question, but first let me say congratulations to you! That is so exciting to hear you are expecting!

As you can imagine it's not just Flora and Merryweather who are wanting to make it pink or make it blue at the Disneyland Resort. Ideas of gender reveals at Disneyland Resort have become quite popular and unfortuantely special requests for lights is not possibility at this time. As far as bringing in confetti or rose petals, the Park Rules are not specifically clear if that is allowed. I personally wouldn't bring those into the parks knowing the mess it could cause and I simply wouldn't want to do anything that would possibly cause a Cast Member or Guest to have an unpleasant experience.  Also, I would be upset if I was told I was breaking the rules. To avoid this, I have a few suggestions that should be a-okay with the mouse himself.

How about revealing the gender with an iconic Mickey Mouse hat? You can purchase a hat at The Mad Hatter in Fantasyland and have them personalize the back in pink or blue thread with name or word of your choice.

Or, you could also purchase a pink or blue Mickey balloon from a vendor for your reveal.

Something you could bring from home would be a paper banner that you could hold in your favorite location or near one of your favorite characters as they socially distance for a picture!

Whether it's the balloons or ears, there are so many great spots in the parks to photograph or video your big reveal. If you purchase Disney Genie+ service, unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloaeds from that day are included. That means you could get so many amazing photos from different PhotoPass Photographers, including in front of Sleep Beauty Castle.

Now, I've saved the best for last. Breanna, I think this would be the most epic and magical reveal if you are looking for a unique experience. Currently, there is an enchanting extra -- Celebrate! In Mickey's Toontown. This 90-minute experience is for up to 10 people in your party for a celebration in Mickey's house in ToonTown. There are cupcakes and games involved, but most importantly you get time to take photos with Mickey! I think this would be one special way to make your big reveal with your ears, balloon, or banner and without others waiting for their turn. Oh I just got so excited imagining this for you! I went ahead and checked availability and I saw there are times available for your date. Be sure to check it out if you want to purchase this experience as it's a very limited time offering.

Breanna, I know it's never fun to hear that your ideas won't work out, but I hope I was able to offer you some alternative ideas that may work for you. I just know that whatever you decide will be nothing short or magical and memorable! Please come back and visit us again with any other questions you may have. See ya real soon!
