Planning our FP+ and wondering how long each attraction/ride takes and how much time we will have in between each ride. Do you recommend planning FP+ back to back? Example: one at 9, another at 10?

    Hi Juli,

You have a great question about how to plan your FastPass+ selections. First, let me tell you that there is no wrong way. If you choose to back to back attractions, you will have plenty of time to do each of them. This is because you have a 1 hour window for each attraction in which to enter the FastPass+ queue.

As far as how much time you will have in between back to back attractions is dependent upon the attraction itself and how quickly the FastPass+ queue is operating. For example, once you board Splash Mountain the ride is just under 11 minutes. That is quite an adventure to go on!  To contrast it with another ride, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is approximately 3 1/2 minutes. Both of these rides are thrilling but it will generally take you longer to experience the Splash Mountain attraction.

My recommendation for most families is to arrive early for park opening and use the standby queues in the morning while the lines are shortest. I usually schedule my FastPass+ selections back to back for late morning and early afternoon, pausing for snacks and meals. With this method if my family is particularly sleepy and we change our minds about arriving early and decide to sleep in, we still have our prime FastPass+ selections ready for us when we enter the park later that morning. The only exception is if I am visiting during a busy time of the year and there are limited choices for FastPass+ selection times for attractions that are on our "must-do" list. In that case, I make our FastPass+ selections based on availability and then plan the rest of our day around it. If we do not have back to back availability, it's not a problem. We simply do other activities that are nearby until time for our next attraction.

    Thank you for your question!
