I am planning a four day trip to Disney World in Florida. Can you tell me when the parks would be less crowded between June 27 - August 22 . We are coming from CT and can come anytime during that period. I would like to make our reservations ASAP

    Welcome to planDisney Suzanne!

A summer vacation to Walt Disney World sounds perfect. Mornings in the theme parks, afternoons at the pool, then fireworks and nighttime spectaculars to end your nights. Now that's a way to celebrate summer!

Summer is definitely a busy time with kids out of school. I would avoid July 4th weekend as that will be very busy. As kids begin to return to school and college by early/mid August, you might find going toward the end of summer could be a bit less crowded. Before purchasing your tickets and booking your resort, check the Theme Park Reservation - Availability page. This will let you know if any parks are already booked to capacity. Once your dates are selected and Theme Park Tickets purchased, get those Theme Park Reservations secured as busier dates could possibly book up.

To save time in line regardless of your travel dates, you might want to add on Genie+ to your Theme Park Tickets. With Genie+ you select a window of time for an attraction then zoom through the Lightning Lane entrance and skip the stand-by queue. This can really cut down on your wait times. Early mornings and evenings also have smaller crowds (and lower temperatures) so plan your days accordingly.

Wishing you a summer full of sunshine!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
