I am planning to fly to WDW with a toddler (1yr, 4mo) and I was wondering if anyone on the panel has some suggestions to make my toddler's first flying experience a good one. Thanks.

    Hi Kevin!

My son is almost the same as yours (19months) and honestly, I don't even want to think about flying with him! He's a huge ball of energy who is interested in everything and every body! However, I have flown twice with him and several other times with my daughter (as an infant and a toddler!).

I love to get a little backpack or bag filled with NEW stuff for them (a new coloring book, a roll of stickers or a tiny stuffed animal) but I also like to add their 2-3 FAVORITE items (the books they can say by heart, their favorite stuffed animal). But the key is to introduce them all sloooowly. Don't show all your cards at once!

Definitely stuff YOUR bag full of snacks---a bag of pretzels is better than a granola bar simply because there are MORE pieces to pretzels than ONE granola bar! :)

And it never hurts to pull out your iPod, laptop or mini DVD player and let them be entertained for a few minutes.

The last time I flew, my son was almost a year. I stood in the back with the flight attendants almost the whole time. They gave him crackers and even let me change his diaper on the floor. So, don't be afraid of walking around the plane!

Don't worry---once you get to Disney World, you'll never remember the flight there. (Just try not to think about the flight back!)
