I am planning a first-time trip and interested in booking a split stay between Animal Kingdom Lodge and a DVC resort. How will this affect tickets and dining plans on a magic your way package and do you need to book two separate packages?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. How exciting to be planning your first Walt Disney World vacation! Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is an amazing resort, with the ability to see exotic animals outside of nearly every window. One of my favorite things to do at this resort is to wake up early and enjoy a cup of coffee on the balcony while watching giraffes, zebras, and many more in the peaceful morning. I love the Disney Vacation Club resorts, also listed as Deluxe Villa resorts. At these resorts, you will find large accommodations and a relaxing vacation with many of the comforts of home.

If you want to book a Magic Your Way Vacation Package, you do need to choose one resort. If you wanted to stay at two different resorts, you would need to book two vacation packages. This would mean that if you had a dining plan, it would be linked to each separate resort stay. You would need to use your dining entitlements from the first reservation within the days on that reservation. It is also possible to book room-only reservations, and then purchase your tickets separately and pay for your dining as you go.

I suggest that you call Disney at 407-939-5277. A cast member there can help talk you through the specifics of what would be best for your vacation.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Jennifer! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
