We are planning our first winter trip to Disneyworld. How is the weather in January? will we need jackets? I would also like to know how late the parks will be open I can't find this information on the web site.

    Hi Kathy,

January is my favorite time to visit Walt Disney World!  The weather can be unpredictable at this time of year, but coming from New England, I'm simply happy not to see snow.  The weather certainly varies this time of year, but I will tell you that we have had times where we donned hats and mittens then t-shirts and shorts all within the same week!

I always bring jackets, hats and mittens at this time of year.  It's one of those things where if you are prepared, you can have a great time.  As the temperature drops, the crowds decrease...so the prepared guests really enjoy some great park touring with very little crowds.

For easy packing, I find lightweight hats and mittens and compress them in a ziploc bag.  It's possible you might never remove them from the bag, but it's nice to have them just in case.  Jackets can be worn onto the plane, this will preserve suitcase space.

Currently the Walt Disney World park hours are being released on a current month plus three basis; using this system we should expect the January hours to be posted in October.

    Hope this helps!
