Hi Janet:
I'm a parent to two boys, ages 5 and 4, who have been traveling to Walt Disney World since they were infants. While I'm not sure about your family's specific interests, but with six days at the Parks, I would default to two days at the Magic Kingdom, two days at Epcot, and one day each at Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. If you find your family really enjoys Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, you can always trade your second day at Epcot with a third visit to Magic Kingdom or second visit to Hollywood Studios. To help decide which Park to head to on which day, I would look at Disney World's
calendars for Park operating times. If you are staying on property, you can take advantage of
Extra Magic Hours (or extended park hours) where Guests can enjoy additional time in Disney Theme Parks.
I would pace yourself. Here are some of my family's must-dos: among many other things: at the Magic Kingdom, we always ride the Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan's Flight, Mickey's PhilharMagic, and it's a small world. At Epcot, we take in Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, and tour the countries of World Showcase. Our must-dos at Hollywood Studios include Toy Story Mania and Muppet Vision 3-D. At Animal Kingdom, our family always rides the Kilimanjaro Safari and visits The Boneyard and Conservation Station. As you enter the parks, pick up a Times Guide for parades and show schedules throughout the day.
Make your
advance dining reservations as soon as you are able, especially to popular restaurants like Chef Mickeys.
Enjoy your vacation.
