We are planning our first visit to WDW in October 2014. We plan on being in the park 5 days. My daughter is 7. Can you provide some recommendations? It is all so overwhelming and I want to make the best of our time. We have been to Disneyland 5 times.

    Hi Crystal,

I love Disneyland and can not wait to explore it this summer for my third time. However, the Walt Disney World Resorts are a different experience.

First, only purchase a Magic Your Way base ticket and skip the Park Hopper option. You will want to concentrate your time at each park so that you are not feeling the tug to go to a second park in one day. Park hopping is great for adults, families with older children such as teenagers or guests who have been multiple times.

Next, I recommend at least one day in each of the four main parks and pick either Magic Kingdom or Epcot for a second day. Epcot should be on your first day because it is larger and you need fresh legs. Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios are each only one day. If you finish either of these parks early, swim in your resort pool or head to Downtown Disney for some shopping, dining or entertainment.

Have your daughter help with the planning. This will help her enjoy the trip and feel less overwhelmed. There are similar rides from the two California parks. Use these to build your trip. Plus you will want to make Advance Dining Reservations if you have a favorite restaurant you want to try or a character to see.

The other big difference is the FastPass+. FastPass+ are a great way to reserve times to see a show, ride an attraction or see a character before you leave on vacation. I would concentrate my FastPass+ on a character greeting especially if Elsa and Anna are a must as well as Toy Story Midway Mania, Soarin', Test Track or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Finally, have fun! Go slow and enjoy these parks. This is the best advice I can give you!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
