We are planning our first visit in march 2010, with my 2 sons that will be 6 and 3. What are your suggestions for things that we can't miss! I'm not sure yet if we will be at the park for 1 or 2 days? What do you recommend for thier ages?

    Hi Erica:

I have young boys who love Disney. I'm sure you and your young sons will love your first trip. I'm not certain which of the parks you plan to visit those 1 or 2 days, so I'm happy to share with you my family's do-not-miss list for the four major theme parks. Hopefully these suggestions will help you and your family plan a memorable trip.

    • At the Magic Kingdom, our family always takes in Peter Pan's Flight, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mickey's PhilharMagic, the Barnstormer, and the Jungle Cruise.
    • At Epcot, we always make sure to ride or see (at least once) Soarin', The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Spaceship Earth, and take a tour of the countries in Epcot's World Showcase.
    • At Disney's Hollywood Studios, our family doesn't miss Toy Story Mania, Muppet Vision 3-D, and the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.
    • At Animal Kingdom, we always get a close look at the animals on the Kilimanjaro Safari and head over to the huge Tree of Life to see It's Tough to be a Bug! 3-D movie inside the Tree.
There are many other attractions besides the ones listed that your family will enjoy, including parades. At the end of the day, I find the best advice when traveling with my young boys is to let them control the pace and pick the rides that look appealing to them, so long as they meet any height restrictions.
