We are planning our first visit to Disney with our 4 year old son and 1 year old daughter.....feeling VERY overwhelmed with all the information out there...awaiting our DVD....any other ideas where to start???

Hi Melissa!  It's great that you ordered the DVD's!  They are very informative.  My advice is to really use the Disney World website to look around.  A great feature is the Customized Disney Maps.  You can click on each theme park and read about the attractions and choose your favorites.  They will then mail you a customized map of the park with your favorite attractions highlighted.  It's a great tool to get familiar with the layout of the parks so you start out knowing where you are going!
I also recommend deciding where you want to eat (Chef Mickey's is a favorite and considered a must-do by many!).  Book your dining reservations, and then plan your days around where your dining will be.  For example, if on Tuesday you are eating at Chef Mickey's, it is located at the Contemporary Resort, so you could make that your Magic Kingdom Park day.  You can eat at Chef Mickey's, then jump on the monorail over to Magic Kingdom.  If you have a reservation inside of Epcot, then make that day your day to visit and explore Epcot.
While Walt Disney World is a very big place, I think you are doing the right thing by watching the videos and planning ahead!  Enjoy the planning...it is so much fun to plan and prepare to visit the most magical place on earth!
