We are planning our first visit to Disney World and are struggling between the Polynesian and the Wilderness Lodge. Please advise the best choice for two boys 11 and 7 years.

Hello Melissa - do your boys enjoy water slides?  If so, I would go with the Polynesian!  The Poly boasts a volcano water slide...meaning the slide is inside the volcano!  It's very cool and I think your boys will love it (you should also give it a try!).  You'll also have a little extra elbow room in the Poly rooms as they are bigger (340 vs. 409 square feet).  You'll have two queen beds as well as a comfortable day bed.  Having access to the monorail is also an added benefit.  You will get to Magic Kingdom in no time and you can switch monorails at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) when visiting Epcot.  (Note, the Poly is also close enough to walk to/from the TTC.)

Although both resorts are lovely, I would choose the Poly and have dinner one night at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge.

I hope your first vacation is a ton of fun for you all!  Diane
