We are planning our first trip for xmas. We are on a budget do they have any promotions for the holidays. How early should I book. We wanted to stay for 7 days and were thinking of one of the value resorts. I have been reading all your views. Tracey MA

    Tracey:

I love visiting Disney during the Christmas holidays! We've been three times and have found exciting and new experiences every visit!

It's a little early for Disney to announce discounts for the holiday travel season, however, you might want to subscribe to the newsletter at www.mousesavers.com or www.allears.net. These are two of my favorite sources for keeping an eye on Disney deals. I've noticed that specials can come out as early as summer for the end of the year.

If you are on a budget--and who isn't these days--Disney can be as friendly to you as the traveler with a thick wallet! You've already revealed my first recommendation: staying at one of the Value Resorts. With ample buses to the parks, extensive food courts, and well-themed rooms, I often wonder why folks choose to stay off-property. Click here for some other thoughts from the Mom's Panel on the Value Resorts!

You've also mentioned the second thing that comes to mind when traveling to Disney on a budget: the longer you stay, the more economical it is. Ticket prices go down drastically the longer the length of stay.

Last, consider your travel dates. Just moving up your visiting dates a week, saves you $$$ when you vacation during Value Season vs. Holiday Season!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
