Planning our first trip for the week of Halloween. What are the advantages/disadvantages to "renting" through DVC? Looking at all resort option, as we are also taking my mom....3 adults and two kids (7 & 2). Not sure if we should just book t

    Hi Alysia,
I love going to Walt Disney World in the fall.  It is my favorite time of the year.  I want to recommend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party as you can dress up and go trick-or-treating at the Magic Kingdom.  There are many advantages of staying at a Disney Vacation Club resort.   The one bedroom villas have a full kitchen, washer and dryer and a separate bedroom and living room.  You will not feel like you are in a hotel room at all.  Disney's Animal Kingdom and Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort sleep five people in a one bedroom.  All of the DVC resorts two bedroom villas sleep up to eight people and some sleep nine.  The two bedroom villas have a master bedroom and additional bedroom plus a living room and kitchen.  If you are renting the villas through a Disney Vacation Club member, the member will need to make all of your reservations for the room and if you choose to add the Disney Dining Plan to your room.  You can add this up to 48 hours before check-in and will need to pay for it at that time.  The Dining Plan needs to be for every guest in your room and for the entire length of stay.  If you book a regular resort room, you will have limited options due to five people in the room.  Port Orleans- Riverside has a room that will sleep five.  You will probably feel more comfortable in two rooms that are adjoining.  I would highly recommend staying at a DVC resort as I know you will just love it.  Please send me a follow up question, Alysia, as I have run out of room and have much more to share with you.  Have a magical vacation!
