Hi there. We are planning our first trip to WDW some time in 2013. There are 5 adults and 2 kids ages 10 and 12. What are our best package options including park tickets and hotel on the park? What time of year is best to visit with less crowds? Thank you.

    Hi Jessica!

This is a great question.  With regards to the crowds, the Disney parks are generally less crowded when older children are typically in school.  Thus the summers and major holidays are very busy times at Walt Disney World.  My favorite time of year to visit is the first two weeks of December; the parks and resorts are beautifully decorated and the crowds are low to medium.

There is no one right package for every guest.  Some guests are happy staying in a Disney Value Resort while some other guests only want to stay in a Disney Deluxe Resort.  Deluxe Resorts offer more services and amenities than Disney Moderate Resorts; in turn Disney Moderate Resorts offer more services and amenities than Disney Value Resorts.  Also, Disney Deluxe Resorts generally have better locations within Walt Disney World.

Since it is your first time visiting, I recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full of information but it is not overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good feel of everything there is to do within Walt Disney World.

Our responses are limited in length, but I hope this helps to get you started.  I would be happy to help more.  You can send questions directly to me or any other panelist!
