Hi, We are planning our first trip to WDW and will be staying at The Art of Animation Resort. Do you know if there are paddle boats or canoes that you can rent on the Hourglass lake near the resort?

Hey there, Lisa! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Hop aboard while we chat about exploring Walt Disney World on the water!

Let's start with the not-so-good news: unfortunately there aren't any watercraft rentals available at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. But don't let that get you down, Lisa, because now we'll get to the good news. You can rent small boats and other personal watercraft at several other Walt Disney World Resort hotels. One option is to journey over to one of the hotels in the Magic Kingdom Resort area, which includes Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Contemporary Resort, and you can rent a boat and float around the Seven Seas Lagoon. I have some amazing pictures of the Magic Kingdom, the Wedding Pavilion and all the resort hotels from the lagoon.

If you haven't gotten your fill of fun on the water, hop over to Disney's Yacht Club Resort and head to the marina to rent a boat and navigate Crescent Lake.

You don't have to be staying at any of these resort hotels to rent watercraft, so just make your way there and head out on your personal cruise!

I hope this helps you have lots of fun in the sun at Walt Disney World, Lisa. Sail on back if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
