Planning first trip to WDW! My 3yo son adores the princesses and this will also be a 30th birthday celebration for me! What are must see experiences to celebrate a first time trip and milestone bday? best time to go for mild weather/crowds?

    Hi Alicia,
You must be so excited about planning your first trip! You're in the right place-welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm a near-native Floridian and I've got to tell you, my favorite time of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort is in the winter. In January and February, with the exception of runDisney race weekends, crowd levels are good and you avoid the Florida heat and humidity.

You tell me your son loves the Disney Princesses-my first thought is a princess meal! Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is located in Epcot and is the perfect place for your little guy to meet and greet with many of his favorite princesses. If you are in love with the ladies from Arendelle, I suggest meeting Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall as a FastPass+ selection.

As for you, what a wonderful way to celebrate your birthday! Since your son is 3, he is old enough to enjoy one of the Children's Activity Centers, which means you could spend an evening alone for a wonderful birthday dinner at the California Grill, the restaurant located at the top of Disney's Contemporary Resort. It's spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom and Bay Lake are incredible. If you're looking for a family dinner activity, I really recommend the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Delicious food and a really fun musical show make for a wonderful evening together as a family.

Alicia, please come back and see us with any additional planning questions!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
