We are planning our first trip to WDW in Nov. with our 6 and 4 yr old. I would like to schedule a character breakfast, I'm interested in Hollywood and Vine ( kids love Disney Jr.). Would like to hear some reviews total experience before booking. Thanks!

    Hi, Nikki!

By coincidence, my family and I ate at Hollywood and Vine on Sunday, 10/2, so I can offer a fresh review of the experience.

The restaurant is bright and clean, with lots of kid-friendly colors. Characters from Disney Junior are immediately visible; the "regulars" are Special Agent Oso, Handy Manny, and Leo and June of Little Einsteins fame, but these are subject to change without notice.

At our reservation time - approximately 11:30 AM - the restaurant was at about 2/3 capacity, so we got quite a bit of  time with each character. Each of them came by the table twice and interacted with my sons (7 and 6).

The food is very good and diverges from standard fare (no worries if you have a choosy diner in your party: there are familiar options on the "grownup" buffet, and children have their own scaled-down version featuring kid-friendly items like delicious macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders). I particularly enjoyed a chilled artichoke and feta salad, for example, while my husband went back for seconds on the asiago chicken. Side note: if the pumpkin pudding is on the dessert table, have an extra spoonful for me.

Every 15 minutes or so, the play leaders will come to a central location, one on either side of the restaurant. They encourage the children to get up and dance with the characters to favorite songs from the Disney Junior playlist. Lots of jumping and clapping help to burn off some of that excited energy, and make for a very pleasant meal for the grownups!

I've always had good meals at Hollywood and Vine, regardless of the time of day, and I love the fact that the entire dining time is geared toward children. As yours still enjoy Disney Junior, I'm sure you will have a terrific meal -- and lots of fun!

    See you later, celebrator!
