We are planning our first trip to WDW in June or July, 2012. We will have our daughters ages 9 and 7. Can we take backpacks into the parks and can we bring our own water/snacks?

    Hi Carrie,

Yes, indeed, to both of your questions!

We bring a backpack into the Disney theme parks all the time.  It's a great place to carry a light jacket, an autograph book, or some snacks.  Security offers will search your backpack before entering the park, but you are certainly welcome to bring it.

As for snacks and water, you are permitted to bring those as well.  In fact, that's a great way to save a few dollars every day you visit the Disney theme parks.

Let us know if you have any additional questions as you prepare your magical Disney adventure for next summer.  We'd be delighted to assist you!
