Hi we are planning our first trip to WDW we will be there from June 23-29. 2 adults and four kids 14,10,8,6. Could we have some help with itinerary?BTW we have plans for dinner at the castle on 25th but need ideas for a dinner show geared more for the boys

    Hi Dawn,

How exciting to take your first trip to Walt Disney World with your family! For a dinner show, my family really enjoys the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney's Fort Wilderness. This high-energy show is a great time - and the fried chicken is fantastic! You also might consider Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, which includes fire dancing.

How you will go about touring the parks depends a lot on your specific family. One way to start considering how you will plan your days at the theme parks is to let your children make customized Disney Park maps. In doing this, your children can each make personalized maps of each of the parks indicating which attractions they are the most interested in experiencing. You can then have these maps mailed to your home for the children to use at the parks. You can look at the maps to see where overlap is in order to decide which attractions are appealing for your whole family.

When you are at Walt Disney World, I suggest that sometimes you split up. With a larger family and a wide range of ages, you might find that there are times when the older ones want to go on a thrill ride while the younger ones take in a show. When splitting up for part of a day, our family has found that meals and parades are great to do as a large group.

I hope that this will help get you started in planning your trip, Dawn. I am more than happy to answer if you have further questions as you plan your trip.
