We're planning our first trip to WDW 12/2010 with 4 children ages 7, 5, 3 and 18mos. Original plan was to stay at the Contemporary for convenience to MK & monorail. Is the convient travel worth the extra cost compared to Value/Moderate resorts?

    Hi Jennifer,

I think the convenience is worth it.  I'm assuming you are going to have at least two of them in a stroller.  If you stay on the monorail you can just roll them on.  If you stay at a value or moderate resort you have to take everyone out of the stroller and then collapse the stroller before you get on the bus.  The rooms are also bigger at the Contemporary.

Friend of mine went down recently with their 4 yr old and 15mo old twins.  They chose to drive down from NJ to save money so that they could stay at the Polynesian.  This family had gone 3 years before and stayed at a moderate resort.  After the trip they said staying at the Polynesian, on the monorail, was the best decision they made.  It was even worth the 16 hour drive.

I think you'll love the Contemporary and the kids will love the newly re-done pool, arcade, and of course Chef Mickeys.  The resort also has one of the best counter service restaurants in all of WDW.  This will come in handy when the little ones are napping and you what to pick up a quick lunch.

    Have a great trip
