Planning our first trip to WDW for Aug with our 4yr old dtr. Original plan was to stay at AKL, but now worry its too far from the MK. Hot temps may mean we have to take a break, and ++ time back and forth from hotel to park may be too much. Your thoughts?

    Hi Diana!

My family and I stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL) when my son was only four and needed naps. I can certainly understand your concern, but there is really no need to worry. We were able to go back and forth between Disney Theme Parks and AKL using the convenient complementary resort transportation. Our plan was always to arrive at the theme parks before Rope Drop, return to AKL for naps, swimming, then head back to the theme parks for dinner and evening fireworks. We found the commuting time to be quite reasonable. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Enjoy a most memorable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
