Hi! Planning first trip to WDW April 2026, I have read that after the fireworks (whilst the crowds are leaving the park) it is a great time to access some of the big attractions - how long after the fireworks will we have to do this before the rides close?

Hello Jenna! I am excited about your first visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth! You will have such an amazing time. I’m honored I can help with the planning of your visit!

You are correct that a great time to ride attractions is after the fireworks, as many Guests (particularly those with young children) choose to leave the park at that time. I choose to get in line for rides during the fireworks show. If you choose to do this at Magic Kingdom Park, please know that while you can see the Happily Ever After fireworks from many areas of the theme park, you won’t be able to see the projections on the front of Cinderella Castle.

Here is a PRO TIP for accessing attractions later in the evening! Did you know that as long as you are in line for an attraction before park closing time, you can still ride the attraction even after the park closes? That’s right! Be sure to get into a line just before park closing time! When the park closes, you’ll still be able to remain in line to enjoy the attraction! Lines tend to be much shorter late at night (particularly if the park is open very late).

Also, don’t forget to pick up your complimentary “1st Visit” button! Consider it a “gift” from Mickey and Minnie in honor of your first-ever visit! Buttons can be picked up at the front desk of your Walt Disney World Resort hotel or at Guest Relations located in any of the Disney World theme parks!

    Dreams do come true!
