We are planning our first trip and thinking about Jan 7-11. I think that there is a race that week but will it really affect us since we are leaving the 11th? Thanks

January is a great time to visit Walt Disney World. The crowds will be much lighter as most kids will be back in school. I know that the Walt Disney World Marathon does fall on the weekend of your visit, but I am confident it will not interfere. I was recently at the Disneyland Resort for Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend and while the parking lot was a bit more full, it did not interfere with our enjoyment of the great attractions, shows and wonderful food at the Happiest Place on Earth. If you are into running or fitness then it is a great place to see all of the latest products at the events prior to the race. I hope this helps you enjoy your vacation even more and I will see you at the parks.

As a Los Angeles native I basically grew up at Disneyland. It has always been so easy to take my family on the short drive to the Happiest Place on Earth. Watching my daughters make magical memories reminds me why I keep coming back. Learn More About Ari
