We are planning our first trip for November. My son has food allergies to milk and eggs. I was just wondering if you had any tips for special dining while at WDW. I see that sit down table service can accommodate, is that the only way we can dine safely?

Hi Tori! Disney is well aware of the food allergies and issues that many of their guests might have. When making a dining reservation be sure and note the allergies that your son has. When you arrive at a restaurant immediately tell your server the foods your son cannot have and a chef will come out and talk about menu choices you can make that will be safe. They are prepared to fix things not on the menu for those guests who need special diets.

When it comes to a quick service location it is a bit more difficult but not impossible. Please ask for a manager in charge at the dining spot. Each place should have a listing of all the foods offered and their ingredients. Review this with a manager who will be glad to assist you in choosing the correct items for your son to eat. This will take some extra time but certainly it is worth it when making sure your son does not have allergic reactions to foods.

It is also good to perhaps bring some food items from home or have them shipped to your resort so you have things your son can snack on during the vacation. Each room will have a small refrigerator and each resort will have a basic supply of foods and drinks you can also purchase. Hope this all helps you plan for a great vacation!
