Hi Mimi,
Without a doubt, I recommend making a reservation for the
California Grill on the top floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort. The views and the food are absolutely fabulous! Usually I recommend people request a table by a window to enjoy the amazing views but in your case, I suggest you request a table near the on-stage kitchen.
If your budget allows it, you might also consider the
Chef's Table at Victoria & Albert's in Disney's Grand Floridian. You actually dine at a special table inside the kitchen where you can watch and speak with the chef! However, it is a very expensive meal and you have to dress up for it. Something similar to the Chef's Table at Victoria & Albert's is the Chef's Domain at Citricos in the Grand Floridian, though I've never done it myself.
My wife and I also love
Jiko - The Cooking Place in Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. The food is outstanding and it has a nice show kitchen. Finally, I recommend the
Flying Fish Cafe at Disney's Boardwalk. As you might guess from the name, it is a seafood restaurant and it has an on-stage kitchen.
These are some of the most popular restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort. Be sure to make an Advanced Dining Reservation for them! It can be done on-line
here.
Have a magical vacation!
