    Hi! We are planning our first trip may 10-17 & can't decide between staying at the Wilderness or the Yacht or Beach Club. Obviously there is a price difference but that aside I would like to know the pro's/con's of each and your preference. Thanks

    Hi Margaret,

    You are choosing between lovely resorts.  I have a definite opinion, but first let me offer some thoughts on each, and then I will let you know which one I would choose.  Since you already know that there is a price difference, I will leave that out of the decision.

    First, consider the theme at each resort, and which appeals the most to you.  Disney's Wilderness Lodge is reminiscent of National Park Lodges of the Pacific Northwest at the turn of the century.   The theme is done very well with rich, deep wood and many trees.  Disney's Yacht Club Resort has a nautical theme like a New England Yacht Club.  It is rich and elegant.  Disney's Beach Club Resort has a more laid-back and beach-like feel, with lovely pastel colors.

    Next, consider the location of each resort.  Disney's Wilderness Lodge is closer to Magic Kingdom; however, it is not on the monorail line.  You can take a boat to Magic Kingdom.  Access to the other theme parks is by bus.  At Disney's Yacht or Beach Club Resort, you can walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot, or take a lovely boat ride to either.  Access to the other theme parks is by bus.  At Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you are close to the other Magic Kingdom Resorts; however, you would need to take a form of transportation such as a boat to get to them.  At Disney's Yacht or Beach Club resorts, you can walk to all of the resorts around Crescent Lake.  Finally, consider the amenities.  If I was going to choose one of these resorts on pool alone, it would have to be Disney's Yacht or Beach Club for the awesome Stormalong Bay pool.  

    I am running out of room in this answer, but can you guess my opinion?  I would choose Disney's Beach Club Resort.  No matter which of these resorts you choose, Margaret, I am sure you will have a wonderful time.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
