Planning our first trip for Jan. 2015. Overwhelmed to say the least! Would it be beneficial to go through a travel agent for our first visit? I'm afraid I will miss a deal while planning myself.

Hello Shauna and thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel to get some planning advice for your much anticipated first ever trip to Walt Disney World Resort.
Firstly relax... arranging a Disney vacation is meant to be fun!
All joking aside, I do understand completely how you must be feeling as planning such a big trip can indeed seem a little over whelming at first.
In my opinion I don't believe that everyone does require a travel agent to book their vacation, but if you do then be sure to choose the services of a Disney specialist travel agent.
My first piece of advice is to purchase a Birnbaum Guide book for Walt Disney World.  This official guide is crammed with everything one could possibly want to know about arranging a magical vacation; from where to stay, budgeting, logistics and even a special section with Theme Park touring plans to help during your vacation.  I like the Birnbaum Guides so much that I buy myself a new one each year, plus they also serve as great vacation souvenirs.
The internet is of course a wonderful source of information, spend some time checking out what's on offer on the Walt Disney World Resort website and on the Disney Parks Blog; both these sites contain the most up to date travel offers and current Guest information.
It's worth remembering that Disney doesn't just sell Disney, they are Disney!
If I can be of any further help to you in planning your 2015 Walt Disney World Resort vacation please don't hesitate to come back and ask me another question.
    Have a great Disney day.
