Planning our first trip in 2015 (husband and myself). Hotel suggestions? Prefer not to spend a lot of money, someplace quiet and not super busy. Also we’re not familiar with the transportation system and would prefer a location allowing shorter wait times.

    Lorna:

I would recommend that you look at the Swan Hotel. You pay for proximity to the parks at Disney and it is the closest resort to the theme parks at the cheapest price. Although you could choose one of the Value or Moderate resorts and solely rely on bus transportation, this hotel is in the Starwood family of resorts, giving you 4-Star accommodations and puts you within comfortable walking distance to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios or you can use the nearby boat.

I have found that most convention-goers choose its "twin" hotel, the Dolphin, so the Swan isn't as busy. You'll share bus transportation to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom with the Dolphin and the other Epcot resorts depending on the time of day but for the price and location near the two other theme parks, it would be my choice.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
