Hi Cheryl!
I personally love the Wilderness Lodge. It and Animal Kingdom Lodge are generally the least expensive of the Disney Deluxe Resorts. I recently discussed staying at the Wilderness Lodge
here.
My 5 year old son's favorite resort is the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The theming is incredible and there are animals everywhere. This can be a once in a lifetime opportunity, as a lot of guests will only have this opportunity to wake up in the morning and see exotic animals right outside their window at Walt Disney World The resort has great dining options; Boma is a great family buffet and Jiko is great for adults looking for a quiet romantic evening. There are a lot of activities for young guests at the resort and the pool is fantastic; I have to admit that it is nicer than the pool at the Wilderness Lodge. I also have to admit that Animal Kingdom Lodge's Quick Service restaurant is better than the one at the Wilderness Lodge.
My favorite Disney Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside. I like the theming of the Alligator Bayou section of the resort. I also like the fact that you can enjoy all of the services and amenities of both Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter. You can walk between the two or take a boat between them. You can see some more of my thoughts on different Moderate resorts
here.
If you are not going to spend a lot of time at your resort, then I recommend going with a Moderate, or maybe even a Value like Pop Century. If, however, you are planning on spending a lot of time at the resort, then I recommend staying at Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Good luck with your decision and write back if you have any more questions!
