Planning a first trip for family of 5 for a week in Feb. We have decided we want to stay at Animal Kingdom. With 5 in our family our options are the kidani or jambo villas. Where would you stay? What request needs to be made to get the best savannah view?

Hi Michelle! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. A first trip to Walt Disney World Resort...you must be super excited! By far one of our favorite places to stay is Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. It's our home resort and we LOVE it! There is no other place like it...anywhere. The moment you arrive you'll be taken aback by the glorious and majestic surroundings. Plus you're right next to Disney's Animal Kingdom Park - the largest animal theme park in the world.

Jambo House is part of the original Animal Kingdom Lodge and has both Disney Vacation Club villas and 5-star hotel style rooms. Kidani Village is part of the second phase of the Animal Kingdom Lodge and has only Disney Vacation Club villas. I like it as it's a bit more intimate than Jambo House.

With a savanna view you'll be blown away with seeing the beauty and splendor of the wild animals from your balcony. With appearances from zebras, giraffes, elks, gazelles, antelopes, kudus, wildebeest's and exotic birds you're in for a delightful and fascinating visual treat.

There are actually 3 savannas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Arusha, Sunset and Uzima and each will offer a view of the free roaming animals from your room/balcony. The Arusha view is the direct "center of the horse shoe" of the savanna with direct view of the animals and the entire area. Arusha view is where you will see zebras.

For delicious cuisine be sure to visit Boma - Flavors of Africa located at Jambo House. The African themed cuisine offers a tasty variety of exciting foods plus some classics guaranteed to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. A favorite spot for my kids is Samawati Springs Pool it's the perfect place to have a splashing magical time!

Wishing you a magical and memorable first visit to the happiest place on the planet!
